Nike is combining the power of its champion athletes, five-decade running legacy and science-backed products and programming to unveil Swoosh TC: a network of elite distance runners, coaches and innovators working together to push the boundaries of performance and progress at the leading edge of sport.

More than a professional running club, Swoosh TC draws on a dynamic training and support system that puts Nike athletes’ needs and ambitions at the forefront, harnessing best-in-class coaching, resources and innovation to help runners reach their potential — nodding to Nike’s deep commitment to listening to the voice of the athlete.

Built by Nike runners, for Nike runners, Swoosh TC will initially consist of three clubs across the country, each with a physical hub and industry-leading resources in the location where its athletes live and train.

Further, Nike will partner with three of the nation’s most respected head coaches, who share the brand’s commitment to creating positive change through sport and working together to empower Nike athletes to maximize their talent.

  • Diljeet Taylor will lead the Provo, Utah, club.
  • Jerry Schumacher will lead the Eugene, Oregon, club in partnership with Shalane Flanagan.
  • Mike Smith will lead the Flagstaff, Arizona, club beginning July 1 in partnership with Rachel Smith.

“Our aspiration is to be the most dynamic, collaborative and competitive professional run club,” says Diljeet. “We’re doing that through working as a collective to fulfill athletes’ dreams, helping them unleash their potential and creating a community where they can be successful. Having increased access to all three hubs will help athletes to push the boundaries of performance, giving them opportunities to train both at altitude and sea level.”

With unfiltered access to top coaches, resources, innovation and guidance in sport performance and recovery, Nike distance athletes will be equipped to perform at their highest level. Whether they’re based in one of the three Swoosh TC hubs or primarily train elsewhere, every athlete will have the opportunity to tap into the power of the Swoosh TC network.

“What I love about the Swoosh TC model is that the athlete is at the center of all that we do,” says Diljeet. “The program’s commitment is centered around the athlete and their needs, and we’re committed to supporting them at every step, building a strong culture of community, and giving them the best possible opportunity to succeed.”
