Jayson Tatum is back, and he’s not listening to the noise.

Tatum is returning to the game stronger, more focused and fully in control, supported in every moment by the Jordan Brand Tatum 5 — a silhouette engineered for effortless dominance and built around his commanding style of play.

As the latest evolution of Tatum’s signature line, the Tatum 5 represents the next step in a design philosophy rooted in efficiency, control and effortless performance. Created for players who dictate the pace of the game, the shoe focuses on delivering a lightweight, responsive feel that offers containment and confidence in every movement. It reflects Tatum’s finely honed play. When he’s in control, the game slows down, decisions become sharper, and every action is intentional.

“There’s always going to be noise around you, especially when people expect a lot from you. For me, success comes from blocking all of that out, trusting my work, and staying in control of what I can control,” says Tatum. “The Tatum 5 is built with that same mindset. It helps me slow the game down, play with confidence, and make every move with purpose. I’m not reacting to the moment, I’m owning it.”

At its core, the Tatum 5 blends performance innovation with a clean, modern aesthetic. The silhouette is engineered to support quick cuts, stability and all-around versatility on the court while maintaining a premium look and feel that resonates beyond the game. It’s a shoe built not just for how basketball is played today, but also for the next generation of athletes looking to level up with precision, creativity and control.

At the center of the design is a dynamic utility strap that secures the foot without adding unnecessary weight, creating a locked-in feel that allows players to move with confidence and clarity.

A 10-millimeter forefoot Air Zoom unit propels players forward, delivering standout energy return for quick bursts and smooth transitions from move to move.

The molded midfoot wrap and heel structure provide consistent stability, helping players stay balanced and controlled through cuts, stops and changes of direction, and a herringbone traction pattern built with HART 2.0 rubber enables sharp stops and precise footwork.

“Jayson has evolved into one of the game's most complete players because he never speeds up for anyone. He plays with poise, precision and control. That became our guiding principle for the Tatum 5,” says Tony Hardman, Design Director, Jordan Basketball Footwear. “Every detail, from the containment-focused strap to the lightweight, responsive performance package, was designed to help athletes feel connected, confident and in command of every possession. The result is a shoe that reflects not just how Jayson plays, but how the next generation wants to compete.”

Along the sidewall, a perf zone enhances breathability for the player, and ballistic mesh vents in the lateral, medial and forefoot pair with other lightweight materials throughout the upper to keep the foot cool.

The Tatum 5 features a soft, molded upper, which takes the fluidity familiar to fans of Tatum’s signature line into a future-forward design space, allowing for different materials and treatments for added expression.

The silhouette also features a branding update, with Tatum’s number, 0, appearing on the heel in a new treatment that calls to mind the famous arch in his hometown of St. Louis.

The striking design takes shape in the launch Sunrise colorway, inspired by the Boston sunrise. Additional colorways will follow, including Sunset, inspired by the Boston sunset. These complementary styles nod to Tatum’s relentless work ethic at all hours of the day.

The Jordan Brand Tatum 5 will be available in full-family sizing beginning September 24 in China, with a global release to follow.
