What’s next for Toma El Juego?
Toma Live is one stop on the global Toma Season One journey, with additional finals and city experiences continuing throughout the summer, all designed to showcase the world’s best street footballers and inspire the next generation to take the game.
As the world turns its attention to the beautiful game this summer, Nike is taking street football to the global stage with Toma Live, a one‑night celebration of grassroots football culture, creativity and community.
Toma Live will unite more than 150 of the best young street footballers from 10 countries in a free broadcast that merges elite small‑sided competitions with music, entertainment and cultural storytelling in Los Angeles, Mexico City and New York City. Fans around the world can tune in June 7 on Amazon streaming services, joining a global fan section built for, and by, the next generation of ballers.
From Local Streets to a Global Movement
Toma Live builds on the momentum of Toma El Juego, Nike’s community‑led street football platform launched last year in Los Angeles. Designed to unleash the joy, freedom and creativity of football, Toma El Juego has fueled football culture through over 100 tournaments across six continents and more than 20 cities, creating new pathways from street football to elite play.
Throughout Toma Season One, thousands of 14- to 18-year-old players have competed in small‑sided formats that prioritize expression over progression — a shift Nike believes is critical to keeping young athletes engaged in the game. At Toma Live, that journey culminates as the top ballers battle in 1-on-1, 3-on-3 and 4-on-4 matchups to crown city and regional champions.
Three Cities. One Global Stage.
Toma Live unfolds across three iconic street football destinations:
- Mexico City hosts the Toma Latin America Finals, bringing together teams from across Latin America and beyond for a celebration of football culture, competition and community.
- Los Angeles, the birthplace of Toma El Juego, plays home to Toma La Noche: LA Finals, as well as the main studio broadcast for the global livestream.
- New York City features The Showdown, a partnership with The Steve Nash Foundation that connects elite street football talent with legendary football figures and serves as the culminating celebration for Toma New York.
Across all three locations, Toma Live stays true to the Toma El Juego ethos: honoring the neighborhoods, crews and cultures that continue to shape football from the ground up.
Where Football, Music and Culture Collide
More than a competition, Toma El Juego is a cultural movement. It's brought together co-created experiences, curated merch from local creative and community partners, as well as music guests with deep roots in football fandom, from Paisaboys, Kids of Immigrants and Venice Beach Football Club (VBFC) to Travis Scott, Young Miko, Carlita and Zulan.
The movement continues with Toma Live, and includes musical performances and DJ sets that will punctuate the action of the night, reflecting football’s deep connection to sound, style and shared experiences.
The livestream will feature appearances from Nike athletes and next‑generation stars, as well as creators and streamers from the global Twitch community, all coming together to celebrate the future of the game.
Exclusive Toma product drops and community‑designed Nike merch will also be available on Nike.com, Toma Live locations and on amazon.com/summerofsoccer during the experience, celebrating the cities, crews and partners that have shaped the journey throughout Season One.
The lineup and additional information will be announced at a later date.
Creating Pathways Beyond the Pitch
In addition to global visibility, Toma Live opens doors for the next generation of athletes. Talent scouts, development staff and federation partners will attend events, with select winners earning opportunities such as Nike brand ambassadorships, access to future Toma Finals, and continued Nike development support.
Further, Toma Live is one stop on the global Toma Season One journey, with additional finals and city experiences continuing throughout the summer, all designed to showcase the world’s best street footballers and inspire the next generation to take the game.
