Jordan Brand is inviting hoopers to leave defenders in the dust with the Heir Series 2: a new basketball shoe crafted to match the speed, intensity and artistry of the women’s game.
Built on performance insights from bold, defiant athletes at all levels of the game, Jordan Brand’s second Heir Series silhouette is designed for quick cuts and shifts, helping players push the pace even faster. There’s always a new peak to chase — and Jordan Brand is committed to championing the next generation of greatness.
“With my footwork being an important part of my game, the Heir Series 2 is a performance shoe that provides the flexibility and stability for me to be a force on both ends of the floor,” says Napheesa Collier, Jordan Brand athlete and five-time WNBA All-Star. “Everyone who follows my game knows I was a fan of the Heir Series, but the innovation in the Heir Series 2 has exceeded my expectations.”
The game-ready Heir Series 2 is designed for her and anyone who sets foot on the court — doubling down on Jordan Brand’s commitment to championing women’s basketball and inspiring the next generation of greatness.
The sleek silhouette brings forward its predecessor’s emphasis on running and cutting, the most critical aspects of the women’s game, while adding key improvements that enable more quickness in every step. The improvements are born directly from insights from hoopers, ensuring that the new silhouette leverages the best NIKE, Inc. innovations to further serve the female athlete.
A new forefoot Air Zoom unit provides standout responsiveness for the speed of the women’s game — where players see more possessions; more movement; and agile, shifty play. A thicker drop-in Cushlon 3.0 midsole is also wrapped in an additional layer of foam cushioning above the outsole for enhanced comfort, helping athletes drop their defenders with ease.
The combination of Zoom Air and additional cushioning provides ample support while also enabling more flexibility and quickness. Meanwhile, a translucent TPU cage provides lightweight containment, and a rubber herringbone traction pattern enables even greater quickness and control.
The silhouette is designed for the unique facets of the women’s game, which typically features more court time and possessions for players — meaning they need a shoe that can keep up with the demands.
Additional nods to the women’s game include a removable hair tie attached to the heel and a series of bold colorways that reflect female athletes’ leading role in shaping the future of basketball culture.
“Women’s basketball has a very important place in the sports landscape, and Jordan Brand is committed to helping the next generation of hoopers reach their greatness. We titled this series of footwear ‘Heir’ knowing that these amazing athletes are next up — here to claim the basketball throne as their own,” says Leo Chang, Senior Creative Director, Jordan Brand Basketball and Sport. “The Heir Series 2 is the next iteration of the basketball sneaker designed for her, by her. The new forefoot Air Zoom unit enables even more support and responsiveness, tailored to the beautiful playing style of the women’s game.”
First introduced in 2024, the Heir Series builds on Jordan Brand’s longstanding commitment to innovating with the women’s game at the forefront. This legacy began with the 1998 release of the women’s Air Jordan OG — the Brand’s first model created exclusively for women. It also includes numerous shoes made for Maya Moore, Air Jordan retail models tuned to the female athlete, and Player Editions created in partnership with Jordan Brand athletes such as Kiki Rice and Kia Nurse. Jordan Brand basketball footwear is also available in extended sizing, serving the needs of all hoopers at every level of play.
