The Nike Phantom 6 is so precise, it’s scary.

The latest iteration of the iconic Nike football boot is designed for the most precise attack, featuring a new Tuned Gripknit upper for pinpoint strikes and an improved Cyclone 360 plate for aggressive, unexpected cuts.

Every aspect of the boot accentuates these Nike innovations, providing the best athletes in the world — including Alexia Putellas and Erling Haaland — an unparalleled ability to manipulate the ball with the utmost precision all over the pitch, at the highest pace.

“You can feel an immediate difference playing with the new Phantom,” says Alexia. “With the grip in the upper, I can put the ball exactly where I want it. Players with an offense mindset will love this boot for dribbling, passing and shooting with next-level precision.”

The Phantom 6 is born from insights Nike collected from footballers across all levels of the game, in different corners of the world. Beyond being faster, the athletes wanted a boot that could help them increase their number of shots on goal and overall goal rate — a challenge Nike embraced, using data points across design, ergonomics and performance to inform the creation of the Phantom 6.

“If there was one thing that I could ask a pair of boots to help me improve, it would be the precision to score more goals,” says Erling. “I feel like this Phantom allows me to do just that: shut off all distractions and focus on nothing other than attacking.”

The new boot builds on athlete feedback from the Phantom GX 1, GX 2, Luna 1 and Luna 2, incorporating a new Tuned Gripknit upper that’s malleable to the foot while maintaining an innovative microtextured grip for added boot-to-ball control.

Several rounds of athlete trials influenced the height and texture of the Tuned Gripknit as well as a reinforced strike zone that gives attackers additional grip — resulting in more intuitive control, faster dribbling and a more precise bend on strike.

While the Phantom 6 High and Low share the same tooling, the laces of the former boot are covered with additional Gripknit to maximize athletes’ ability to manipulate the ball with precision. And for the first time, both versions of the boot will incorporate the main benefit of grip from the Elite model across the Pro and Academy models — reflecting Nike’s commitment to delivering game-changing precision to all athletes.

The upgraded Cyclone 360 plate applies insights from years of testing and obsessing traction with athletes across different levels of play to deliver universal benefits for rotational traction. The plate now includes an added row of integrated conical studs that enhance weight distribution between the top heel and forefoot, delivering a higher balance and evenly distributed pressure underneath the foot, enabling increased comfort without compromising agility. The plate also includes agility flex areas inspired by the Nike Hypervenom 3, a boot beloved by goal-hungry attackers around the world.

Additionally, the Phantom 6 debuts a new last and more natural toe box, which is 3 millimeters shorter and 1 millimeter higher than previous Phantom models to ensure the most natural fit. More anatomical to the foot, the volume of the new last ensures the Phantom 6 runs true to size. The shape of the ankle cuff has also been improved at the collar to deliver increased comfort.

The Phantom 6 draws inspiration from the personality of the iconic Hypervenom, recreating the edge and attitude that appeals to athletes who want to be seen and feared on the pitch. From bold color-blocking to eye-catching textures on the Swoosh and heel, the boot embraces an unpredictable and rebellious aesthetic to match the mindset of the Phantom attacker.

“Sure, the boots are comfortable and feel extremely lightweight, but they also look cool and are impossible to ignore on the pitch,” says Erling.

The Nike Phantom 6 High and Low will be available in Elite, Pro and Academy models June 12 at nike.com and select retail locations.
