Nike is introducing the First Sight collection: a trio of futuristic women’s sportswear silhouettes rooted in performance and designed to push the limits of self-expression.

The First Sight collection experiments with shape and form to offer new and unexpected style propositions — exploring the complex dimensions of femininity, challenging the codes of tradition and embracing an alternative beauty aesthetic.

“The brief for this collection was, ‘How can we make women fall in love with these shoes the first time they see them?’” says Jeff Scott, Expert, Energy Footwear. “What looks cool, appeals to her and feels new and exciting? We wanted to ground this collection in Nike’s athletic DNA while opening it up to the future through the lens of sportswear made distinctly for her.”

Launching first is Noir, a sleek sportswear style that sits at the intersection of a track spike and classic loafer, bringing a bold interpretation of speed to the streets. A wedge-like construction is designed to model a sprinter’s stance in the starting blocks, and an ergonomic toe hearkens back to past generations of track spikes — bringing a distinct track and field influence to a wearable, everyday silhouette.

“The track-inspired look of the First Sight Noir really hits home for me,” says Masai Russell, a Nike athlete and 2024 Olympic gold medalist hurdler who features in the campaign. “I love the suede material, which brings a really fun vibe that helps me look and feel good."

Next up is Mirage, which merges a football boot and Oxford dress shoe in a striking design accentuated by a first-of-its-kind cushioning system that resembles the spikes worn by footballers on-pitch. Each spike is constructed of 3D-sculpted TPU and filled with foam, delivering ample cushioning for the urban athlete. An easy-to-wear upper also draws inspiration from the scuffs and abrasions football boots incur during a match, adding another distinct tie to the sport.

The collection concludes with Shadow, a slip-on silhouette that takes after Nike’s early 2000s basketball shoes in a not-to-be-missed look that juxtaposes the fierce energy of today’s top women’s hoopers with their femininity away from the game. A bespoke traction pattern also takes inspiration from Nike basketball footwear, offering yet another reminder of the silhouette’s hardwood heritage.

“These shoes were truly made from scratch, with our designers gathering insights from around the world to create new art forms that speak to today’s female athlete,” says Thomasin Hummerstone, Senior Director, Energy Footwear. “Each silhouette is inspired by sport, infused with Nike-only energy, and crafted for women who want to push the boundaries of self-expression.”

The intense emotion that kicks in as athletes lace up for competition inspires the launch colorways for each silhouette, furthering the collection’s authentic connection to sport.

“With each of these shoes, you feel the ferocity of the color — like it’s coming at you in a very real way,” says Scott. “We were inspired by athlete motion and emotion. There’s an intense and sculptural vision with each shoe. Still, every model has a glimmer — a sheen or a shine — that catches the eye and brings in brightness and levity.”

The Nike First Sight collection launches with the debut of Noir, which will become available globally March 20 across SNKRS and select retail locations. Mirage and Shadow will launch later this year.
