Jordan Brand continues to establish itself as a reference within Mexican culture, showcasing its commitment to Latin American communities through unique experiences and collaborations that create an unparalleled connection between sneaker enthusiasts and sport.

The brand’s latest footwear release, the Air Jordan V El Grito, embodies this vision and pays homage to rich Mexican culture through nods to its streets, colors, textures and people — representing Mexican identity and pride both at home and around the world.

The El Grito’s white leather upper features embossed details on the tongue, toe and heel that are inspired by Mexican craft and textures such as talavera, or colorful glazed and decorated pottery.

Red and green lace locks and midsole teeth contrast with the white of the sneaker, and dubraes engraved with the word "viva" give the historic silhouette an unmistakable Mexican touch.

A green, red and white Jordan Brand label on the inside of the tongue furthers that feel, and a geometric, burgundy design pattern throughout the shoe’s interior lining provides an additional pop of color.

The El Grito is Jordan Brand’s latest effort to create connections with Latin American sneaker fans, building on previous collaborations that celebrate Mexican culture and traditions, such as the Jordan Chilango apparel collection and striking editions of the Air Jordan 1 in various Nike Día de Muertos collections.

Another example of these efforts is the July opening of Nike & Jordan World of Flight Mexico City, the first Jordan World of Flight experience in Latin America and NIKE, Inc.’s largest retail space in the region — a three-floor destination spanning more than 22,000 square feet on the iconic Calle Madero in downtown Mexico City.

After a limited release in Mexico, including at Jordan World of Flight Mexico City, the Air Jordan V El Grito will be available globally September 12 at nike.com and select retail locations.
