Our Commitment to the Black Community

Addressing systemic racism in America requires urgent action and sustained engagement—and NIKE, Inc. is committed to both. In 2020, Nike, Converse, Jordan Brand and Michael Jordan committed a combined $140 million over 10 years to invest in and support organizations focused on economic empowerment, education and social justice to address racial inequality for Black Americans. Our investments will go toward developing strategic national partnership, as well as supporting local community organizations, and we’ll engage our employees as partners throughout.

Other Strategic Partnerships and Investments

Investing in more equal, inclusive and active communities isn’t just the right thing to do as a business—it’s also critical in our efforts to help realize a thriving future for our kids, communities and planet. That’s why we’ll continue to support established community partners, like the Jackie Robinson Foundation, PeacePlayers, the National Civil Rights Museum (Memphis, TN) and Self-Enhancement Inc. (Portland, OR).

As part of our Inclusive Community investment portfolio, we’ll also continue to provide grants to nonprofit organizations across the U.S. for their work in supporting Black communities. Intersectionality is a key consideration in all of these investments. Learn more here.
