Nike lights up the pitch with the new Mercurial Dream Speed 009

In the darkest season of the year, Nike's Mercurial Dream Speed 009 lights up the pitch.

Fuelled by the momentum of its Dream Speed predecessors, the latest boot in the storied football franchise is ready to burn defenders and ignite a new generation of awe-inspiring brilliance.

The latest Dream Speed silhouette draws on the series' original namesake, along with the 004 and 005 iterations, to celebrate legacy, speed and self-belief in a boot inspired by the game's fastest athletes.

A unique three-quarter-length Air Zoom unit underfoot provides springy acceleration for the likes of Kylian Mbappé and Sam Kerr, who set a blistering pace while wearing Mercurial. An integrated speed cage structure, meanwhile, keeps footballers' feet locked in and ready to step on the accelerator at a moment's notice.

Tri-star studs provide multi-directional traction with every step, allowing athletes to create space, change direction and cut through the defence. And a Vaporposite+ upper combines a grippy, grid mesh with a premium lining for a more natural feel and optimal ball control at high speeds.

The Mercurial Dream Speed 009 will be available globally in adult and kids' sizes on 4 November at Nike.com and select retail locations.
