Confidence, comfort and support—all without sacrifice.
That's the promise of the Nike Structure Plus, which combines the peace of mind of a stability shoe with the extreme comfort and fun of super foam in a bold, expressive design that inspires runners to lace up and let the miles fly.
The Structure Plus brings a combination of ZoomX and ReactX cushioning to Nike's stability line-up for the first time, offering runners the amped underfoot sensation and energy return of super foam in a supportive, comfortable silhouette fine-tuned to bring out the best in everyday training and long runs.
"We saw an opportunity to bring more cushioning and a more fun, energetic ride to stability shoes. That's where the 'Plus' really comes in", says Ashley Campbell, expert product line manager, Nike Running Footwear. "With ZoomX foam appearing alongside ReactX for the first time in our Structure line, the Structure Plus delivers a softer, more responsive ride while maintaining the support runners expect".
To create the Structure Plus, Nike studied the movement of hundreds of elite and everyday runners, using their insights to fine-tune the optimal combination of stability and cushioning. The result is an unprecedented stability shoe, purpose-built to meet the exact needs of runners who want support, cushioning and the springy underfoot sensation of super foam.
The silhouette features Nike's innovative midfoot support system, which debuted in the Structure 26, wrapping both the medial arch and lateral heel to provide enhanced stability throughout a runner's stride. This system pairs with a ZoomX midsole and ReactX foam carrier that provide exceptional cushioning, reducing impact on the body.
This combination of support and cushioning helps deliver the stability runners need while maintaining a more comfortable, fluid running experience—all without the use of firmer materials or rigid medial structures traditional to stability footwear.
"The Structure Plus feels more fun because it's lighter and more cushioned than what I'm used to while still bringing that reliable, perfect mix of stability and responsiveness", says Karissa Schweizer, a Nike athlete and US champion in the 10,000-metre run. "A lot of times a stable shoe feels kind of serious, like I'm wearing it because I have to, but this one feels like something I really want to run in. It's lighter, smoother and just makes my everyday runs feel a little more enjoyable".
A thoughtful 32-millimetre stack height in the forefoot and 42-millimetre stack height in the heel, the tallest ever in the Structure line, pairs with wider nets to ensure stability, especially through the midfoot. Nuanced structural overlays help the silhouette feel more secure, and an engineered mesh upper delivers zonal breathability and support. A plush collar and tongue also add comfort and containment while contributing to an improved fit.
Meanwhile, high-abrasion rubber in the heel ensures exceptional traction and durability in high-impact zones, and blown rubber in the forefoot provides consistent softness and ground feel.
These innovations come to life in a distinct, eye-catching design that takes cues from retro Nike footwear and features a range of classic and bold colourways, from black and white to sunset hues and a playful lime green.
The introduction of the new silhouette offers stability runners a choice within Nike's Structure franchise—one of three distinct categories comprising the brand's simplified road running footwear line-up.
Both the Structure Plus and Icon Structure 26 model are purpose-built to meet the core needs of stability runners, with the Icon offering a firmer feel and all-around balance, and the Plus providing more energy return, a different underfoot sensation and increased softness and cushioning.
"The Structure Plus works not in contrast to the Structure 26, but in conjunction—building on the silhouette with a bit more foam to keep you from pounding the pavement", says Cooper Teare, a Nike athlete and two-time US champion in the 1,500-metre run. "The Structure Plus takes the fluidity and stability of the Structure 26 one step further by giving you extra cushion without sacrificing any efficiency".
Buoyed by the addition of the Structure Plus, Nike's Structure franchise reflects a new era of supportive cushioning for a stable ride. Meanwhile, the brand's Vomero line delivers maximum cushioning for ultimate comfort and the Pegasus franchise offers responsive cushioning for all-day energy return.
This line-up of complementary running silhouettes provides athletes with their preferred type of cushioned ride for whatever run they want to take. The line-up also makes it easier for runners to determine what footwear offers them the right mix of benefits, technology and price point, providing a more inviting and accessible experience—especially for runners gearing up for the first time or adding a new shoe to their rotation.
The introduction of the Structure Plus—and the innovation at the heart of Nike's entire road running footwear line-up—also reflects Nike's history as the brand built by runners, for runners, and its continued commitment to creating the most technologically advanced products to help all athletes, from the elite to the everyday, reach their greatest potential.
The Nike Structure Plus will launch exclusively at running speciality stores worldwide on 8 January 2026, before becoming available at Nike.com and additional retail locations from 5 February.
