Nike x Veneda Carter Debut a Striking New Expression of the Air Max Muse

Nike and Veneda Carter are adding dimension to their Air Max Muse collaboration with a striking new colourway that combines a retro running aesthetic with a contemporary application of colour and texture.

Veneda designed her second expression of the Air Max Muse as a universal colourway that can be worn with any outfit, bringing to mind the versatility of classic 1990s Nike footwear.

Glossy, Racer Blue highlights draw out the silhouette's futuristic shape, calling attention to the iconic Air technology in the heel, while a silver Swoosh sits against a more subdued, dimpled pattern. All the while, a jewel Swoosh pendant adds unexpected flair to the modern yet classic look.

"When I went to Nike's headquarters to work on my second colourway of the Air Max Muse, all the references I pulled from the Department of Nike Archives were retro running shoes with cool, shiny materials and a mix of brighter colours", says Veneda. "I wanted to recreate that feeling with this shoe, connecting people to Nike's running heritage and the kind of sneakers I wore growing up".

The new Nike x Veneda Carter Air Max Muse will be available exclusively at venedacarter.com from 6 March and globally across SNKRS and select Nike retail partners from 13 March.

27 May 2025—Nike is joining forces with renowned stylist and designer Veneda Carter to unveil a timely, sporty and stylish expression of the Air Max Muse: a striking silhouette for women that reaffirms the brand's leading position and versatility at the intersection of sport and style.

The collaboration showcases Veneda's distinct ability to find unexpected pairings of colour, texture and cultural influence—then extend that interplay to styles that empower women to express their individuality in new and unique ways.

This trendsetting approach finds a fitting canvas in the Air Max Muse, which merges form and function, comfort and style, tradition and transformation in an innovative, fashion-forward silhouette powered by Air.

"The Air Max Muse is exactly the type of shoe I love to wear. It has this universal appeal that mixes a classic, sporty look with a feminine, sexy feel", says Veneda. "My goal in designing this expression of the Air Max Muse was to have my personality and energy shine through, so anyone who sees the shoe recognises it as my style right away".

As Veneda revealed earlier this month, her first exclusive colourway of the Air Max Muse pairs the silhouette's futuristic form with a white and Military Green palette and feminine touch of pink, positioning the sneaker as a bold, authentic statement piece that balances elegance and everyday wearability.

Inspired by rain gear and other practical outdoor wear, Veneda employs matt and rubberised textures that pair with warm earth tones to capture the essence of spring. These grounding shades stand in striking relief to white panelling that helps define the silhouette. Veneda further creates contrast through the use of reflective design finishes that offer a subtle nod to her namesake jewellery line—an inspiration that's also reflected in textured, metallic lace tips.

"I love that my Air Max Muse can be styled in so many different ways and take on so many unique personalities", says Veneda. "You can wear it all day, whether you're just cruising down the street, going to a party or heading to dinner or the gym. The textured lace tips that match my jewellery also make the shoe stand out in any environment, giving it a really high-end look".

Veneda's bold style pairs seamlessly with the softly exaggerated proportions of the Air Max Muse, whose futuristic shape and distinctive, heightened arch are meant to be noticed, drawing attention to the iconic Air technology in the heel.
