In a nod to the infinite possibilities for LGBTQIA+ communities across the globe, this October, Nike is hosting an artist exhibition and panel discussion with local icons during one of the largest gender-inclusive celebrations in Asia, the 2023 Taiwan Pride Parade.

This is the second year Nike Taiwan has joined the massive local LGBTQIA+ celebration. By creating more inclusive spaces in sport, Nike Taiwan seeks to champion athletes, nurture the local community and pay tribute to those who defy boundaries and redefine possibility by staying true to themselves.

Rooted in Nike's company-wide "Be True" commitment to greater inclusivity, the Nike Taiwan exhibition combines the power of sport, art and dialogue to celebrate the local LGBTQIA+ community and invites athletes to re-imagine a more inclusive future.

Nike Taiwan joined forces with photographer Allison Lin to capture Be True advocates, including local athletes and the first same-sex married couple in Taiwan. Allison's black and white photographs reveal both professional and personal aspects of the athletes' experiences, a fuller—and true—vision of sport and life, on and off the pitch.

Drawing inspiration from the growth of a more inclusive and expressive society, artist Zhu Chen Wei created a series of illustrations with an array of rich and vibrant colours. The pieces aim to paint sport as a powerful catalyst in creating a more diverse, better world.

Nike Taiwan will also host a panel discussion with national basketball coach and former player Rosa Chien. Additional panellists will come from art, sport and other creative arenas to share their insights on the challenges faced by LGBTQIA+ athletes and the role sport plays in driving societal change.

Nike Taiwan's commitment to inclusivity echoes Nike's global mission to inspire and innovate for all athletes. By fostering meaningful experiences and conversations, Nike strives to drive positive change in the sports community and beyond, celebrating athletes from all walks of life and empowering future generations.
