Nike Sportswear is beginning to unveil the eight footwear silhouettes created through the inaugural Air Works programme, which brought together designers from around the world to help co-create the future of Air Max.

The first designs to be revealed are from Motoi Hatsuki and Tasnim, who created their Air Max silhouettes in partnership with Nike mentors and Zellerfeld. Representing Tokyo and London, Motoi and Tasnim are part of the first class of Air Works designers, a global group invited last spring to Nike's Philip H Knight Campus in Beaverton, Oregon, to explore the brand's 40-year heritage of Air innovation and to develop new expressions of Air Max through 3D-printed footwear.

The silhouettes mark the first chapter in a rolling reveal of Air Works designs and innovations. Additional footwear from the first class of Air Works designers will be unveiled over the coming months. Here is the full list:

  • July: Motoi Hatsuki (Tokyo)
  • August: Tasnim (London)
  • September: Marc Su (Beijing)
  • October: Masyn (Los Angeles)
  • November: Diya Joukani (Mumbai)
  • December: Jose Wong (Shanghai)
  • January 2027: Yams (Paris)
  • February 2027: Omi (New York City)

Each Air Works design reflects the creator's personal point of view and celebrates the local communities that continue to shape Air Max culture around the world. Together, the silhouettes build on Nike's legacy of Air innovation while opening new possibilities for how Air Max can be imagined, made and worn by the next generation.

Learn more about Air Works and keep watch in the months to come for the debut of each local designer's limited-run, friends and family silhouette.

August: Tasnim (London)

July: Motoi Hatsuki (Tokyo)
