Editor's note: This release was updated on 15 November 2023 to announce Jordan Brand's Class of 2027 in the Philippines.

Today, Jordan Brand added six students who will join the global community of Wings scholars and fulfil their dreams of excelling in life through quality higher education. The students will each receive four-year scholarships, allowing them to pursue the course of their choice at Ateneo de Manila University.

Inspired by Michael Jordan's legacy and commitment to education, the Wings Scholars Programme encourages perseverance against all odds in pursuit of a goal—both on and off the court. Continuing this legacy, the announcement of the second group of scholars was made during half-time of the Ateneo Blue Eagles' second-round game of the UAAP Season, celebrating the scholars' excellence on the court and in the classroom.

11 December 2022—The Jordan Brand Wings Scholars Programme is expanding to the Philippines—a key home for basketball culture—adding to existing Wings programmes in North America, China and France.

Six Filipino undergraduates will join the global family of Wings Scholars in 2022. Partnering with the NGO Bahay Tuluyan, Jordan Brand Wings identified high-performing and committed students who are often the first generation in their families to go on to higher education and provided full, four-year scholarships to Jordan Brand partner university Ateneo de Manila. The scholars will also receive skills training, career guidance and mentorship through their four-year journey at the university. Through inspiration and access to educational opportunity, Jordan Brand Wings works with more than 30 global partners to create a better future for young people who need it most.

"Showing up for basketball culture is core to our purpose at Jordan Brand", says Craig Williams, Jordan Brand president. "And when you think about the community in Manila who shows so much love for the game, it only makes sense that we would bring Jordan Wings to them, to extend this spirit of excellence".

The selection process was rigorous. Beginning with a pool of over 400 students, the final group of Jordan Brand Wings Scholars were selected by demonstrating a champion mindset, a drive to excel outside of the four walls of the classroom, strength of character and sharing a love for sport. The first group of Filipino scholars are scheduled to graduate in 2026. Since 2015, Jordan Brand Wings has granted more than 2,886 scholarships across the world.
