Running. Volleyball. Fencing. Tennis. These sports and more, representing Converse's diverse history across the athletic landscape, all inspire the brand's new low-profile lifestyle shoe: the Run Star Trainer.

Built from the ground up, the Run Star Trainer is designed for modern life—enabling new styling for those who value versatility, self-expression and comfort.

The Run Star Trainer draws on nearly 20 heritage Converse silhouettes built for their distinct sports. Take the shoe's familiar gum outsole, which is steeped in the brand's history in running and indoor athletics. Or its tread pattern, conceptualised from the Chuck Taylor All Star and exaggerated around the heel.

The Run Star Trainer's five bold colourways reference historic Converse footwear, and explorations of the brand's classic Star Chevron logo inspired the shoe's final design and insignia.

Modern muses are also incorporated throughout the silhouette, such as the Star logo from the heel of the Run Star Hike, first introduced in 2019, and a nylon, suede and leather upper offers a rich dimensionality. The shoe even takes cues from contemporary art forms such as pottery.

This kind of exploration has long been essential to Converse's mission, allowing for continued experiments in colour, fit, material and proportion. A departure from many offerings in the Converse line-up, the Run Star Trainer synthesises, and in turn modernises, components of the brand's DNA, showcasing the multiplicity of Converse's sport history.

The Run Star Trainer—designed through a fresh take on fit, form and stance—joins a series of new Converse product introductions, such as the De Luxe Wedge, Heel and Squared, offering consumers even more options for self-expression.

The Converse Run Star Trainer will be available globally at converse.com and selected retail stores on 18 June.
