Giving back to our communities

What to know

We're committed to building a future where everyone—regardless of where they are from, the colour of their skin, their abilities or who they love—can thrive.

We invest in more equal, inclusive and active communities to help create a future where everyone can thrive. We work with more than 200 organisations around the world dedicated to levelling the playing field and addressing inequality.

Black Community Commitment

In its fiscal year 2021, Nike, Inc. announced a four-year, $40 million commitment on behalf of Nike, Jordan Brand and Converse to advance a more just and equitable society for Black Americans. In addition to the investment from Nike, Inc., Jordan Brand and Michael Jordan donated $100 million during the next 10 years. Our Black Community Commitment invests in strategic national partnerships and supports local community organisations. Current grantees include: the NAACP Empowerment Programs, the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc. (LDF), Black Girls Code, Black Girl Ventures, Goalsetter and the National Urban League.

Homeboy Industries x Converse

In Los Angeles, Converse is working with Homeboy Industries, the largest gang rehabilitation and re-entry programme in the world. With Converse's support, Homeboy Industries engages youth using creative-arts programming to prevent recidivism.

Inclusive Community

The Inclusive Community investment programme supports North American non-profits working to advance equality in communities represented by our eight North America-based employee networks, collectively known as NikeUNITED. Intersectionality is a key consideration in awarding grants. It enables us to create more impact in each of the eight communities we support: individuals of all abilities; Asian American, Middle East and Pacific Islander communities; the Black community; the Latinx community; our military and veteran communities; Native American and Indigenous communities; the LGBTQIA+ community; and girls and women.
