Sifan Hassan นักกีฬา Nike คว้าเหรียญทองในการแข่งขันวิ่งมาราธอนวันนี้ด้วยเวลา 2:22:55 ทิ้งห่างจากกลุ่ม 3 คนในช่วงนาทีสุดท้ายของการแข่งขัน

นับเป็นเหรียญที่ 3 ที่เธอได้จากเกมการแข่งขันที่ปารีส โดยเธอได้เหรียญทองแดงในการแข่งขันวิ่งระยะ 5,000 เมตรเมื่อวันที่ 5 สิงหาคมและระยะ 10,000 เมตรเมื่อวันที่ 9 สิงหาคม เธอเป็นนักกีฬาคนแรกที่คว้า 3 เหรียญติดต่อกันนับตั้งแต่นักวิ่งชาวเช็ก Emil Zátopek กวาดเหรียญทองไปในการแข่งขันโอลิมปิกปี 1952 ที่เฮลซิงกิ

ในปี 2021 เธอกลายเป็นนักกีฬาคนเดียวในประวัติศาสตร์โอลิมปิกที่คว้าเหรียญในการแข่งขันทั้งระยะ 1,500, 5,000 และ 10,000 เมตรในการแข่งขันโอลิมปิกครั้งเดียวกัน 

ฤดูใบไม้ร่วงที่ผ่านมา Sifan ชนะการแข่งขัน Chicago Marathon ปี 2023 และคว้าตำแหน่งนักวิ่งมาราธอนหญิงที่วิ่งเร็วที่สุดเป็นอันดับสองด้วยเวลา 2:13:44
