Basket maschile: il team USA porta a casa il 17° oro olimpico

A Parigi, il team USA di basket maschile ha conquistato il quinto oro olimpico consecutivo, e il 17° in totale, nella finale di basket maschile 5 contro 5.

Con un roster formato da 12 All-Star NBA, 4 MVP NBA e 6 campioni NBA, il team USA era destinato al successo sin dal principio. Kevin Durant, ala dei Phoenix Suns e tre volte medaglia d'oro olimpica, nonché miglior marcatore olimpico nella storia del team USA, ha dato spettacolo nella finale, regalando alla sua squadra 15 punti, 4 assist e 4 rimbalzi. Durant afferma: "Poniti un obiettivo e impegnati ogni giorno per raggiungerlo".

Dopo la sua ultima apparizione olimpica nel 2012, l'ala dei Los Angeles Lakers LeBron James ha contribuito al trionfo del team USA per tutto il corso dei Giochi con 14 punti, 10 assist e 6 rimbalzi. King James spiega: "Nulla è dovuto. Tutto va conquistato. In ogni partita, ambisco a essere il più grande di sempre".

Durante l'evento, i giocatori hanno dimostrato la loro supremazia in campo e consolidato la loro strategia incentrata sul gioco di squadra, un obiettivo condiviso dai cestisti dei Phoenix Suns, come KD e Devin Booker, atleta Nike che fa parte della squadra che vinse l'oro a Tokyo. Booker afferma: "Gioco per essere il migliore".
